Parental control: lock categories with a PIN
Chlyra TV parental control asks for a PIN before opening the adult content categories in your playlist. It takes a minute to set up, but there is one step you must not skip: changing the default PIN.
How to turn it on
- Open the settingsIn the Chlyra TV web panel, go to Settings and find the Parental control section.
- Turn it onTick Enable parental control.
- Change the PINThe parental PIN is set to 0000. Change it to one that is not easy to guess, such as a family birthday.
- Save the settingsSettings are saved to your account.
Which categories are protected
Chlyra TV recognises adult categories by their name. It asks for the PIN when opening any category whose name contains one of these words: adult, xxx, porno, +18, 18+ or sex.
This means it depends on how whoever provides your playlist names the categories. If your provider uses a different name, that category will not be protected.
For anything not detected: hide the category
As well as the PIN, you can hide any category in the playlist so it does not appear. That is how to cover the ones not detected by name, or any other you would rather keep out of sight.
Check it on every device
After turning it on, open the protected category on each device the children use and check that it asks for the PIN. It is the only way to be sure the protection works where you need it.
