What is Xtream Codes
Xtream Codes is a way to access an IPTV playlist with three details (server, username and password) instead of a single M3U address. Many providers offer both options for the same access.
Xtream Codes versus an M3U URL
| Aspect | M3U URL | Xtream Codes |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | One long address | Server, username and password |
| How you enter it | Paste it in full | Three separate fields |
| What the player receives | The whole playlist at once | Categories, channels and guide separately |
With Xtream Codes the player asks the server for the information in parts, so it can usually show categories and the programme guide in a more organised way. With an M3U URL it receives the whole playlist in a single file. Neither is better at everything: use the one your provider gives you.
How to get the Xtream details from an M3U URL
Many M3U URLs look like this, which is common on Xtream-compatible servers:
- ServerEverything before /get.php, including the port: http://server.example:8080
- UsernameWhat comes after username= and before the next &.
- PasswordWhat comes after password= and before the next &.
If your URL does not look like this, it is not an Xtream type: use it as an M3U URL.
How to add it in Chlyra TV
In the web panel, go to My IPTV lists, click Add list, choose Xtream Codes and enter the server, username and password. You can also add an EPG guide URL if your provider gives you one.
